Associate Community
“As I was reading my prayer meditation book, there were two quotes that struck me as to the meaning of Providence.” 1) “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed”. (Proverbs 11:25) 2) “God has made us to be givers. It isn’t something we have to do in order to please him so much as it’s something we need to do to keep ourselves working properly. We are healthy and whole when we are both giving and receiving.” (Daniel Taylor from “Letters to my Children”) “When I think of Providence, I think of charity: charity toward ourselves and others. We need to be generous and charitable with our talents, with our resources, with all of God’s blessings. When we are generous, we complete our lives and make ourselves complete. And we show God’s hands at work.”

Father Francis Mfodwo, an Associate member of the Congregation of Divine Providence, recently visited the Associate community in
Spring Hill, FL. Father Francis is a Ghanaan priest who has been studying at Fordham University, New York, for the past five years. His goal, before he returns to Ghana in September, is to visit some of the CDP Associate Communities in the states.
While in Florida, Father Francis met with the Associates as they reflected on the virtue of Apostolic Charity, one of four
fundamental virtues lived by Sisters and Associates of the Congregation.
